It was a beautiful spring day, as i stood at my kitchen sink washing dishes, my 4yr. old son came in and ask "mom will you buy me a hole?" As i kept on washing dishes I asked "What?", " Will you buy me a hole/", I could see this was going to take all my attention,so as I dried my hands I ask "What kind of hole do you want?" " You know the kind you through a ball through!" " Oh, you want a Basket Ball Hoop." Yea, that's it." As I pulled him to me to give him a big hug, I promised to buy him a"hole."
Just one of the wonderful memories he gave me.
This morning my grandson asked, "Were you fat when you were my age?"
While potty training my son I decided to encourage him by teaching him to "sword fight". Now whenever he uses the toilet he won't stop swinging his sword and pees all over the place. Kids are crud....
When I was little my Grandpa and I used to spend alot of time together. He used to tell me storys, and talk about things from his past. Just like most Grandparents(as well as parents too) my Grandpa used to give me the ol' "when I was your age we had to walk to school, bare foot up hill, bothways ,with no shoes" and so on. But my Grandpa liked to really get me confused. He would start out some of his stories with "when I was a little girl....." for a while I was terrified that I would end up as this old man some day.:) Crazy old man!I miss my Grandpa he's been gone about 10 years. He was always funny and a kick to be around. Even when he used to ask if he could hold my baby dolls, and then once they were cradled in his arm he would say." bad bad baby" and smack them in their faces. It pissed me off when I was little, but now I find it soooo funny. I know where my sence of humor comes from!
July 1995 When my daughter was almost 3 she,and I attended a Birthday party for a little girl that was 1 month older than her. We had opened some gifts and the kids began to play with them, as they looked at the loot my daughter tried to take one gift away, feeling entitled to her pals presents. The adults began to talk and right away the birthday girl let out a blood curdling scream. I turned to see what happend and saw the poor little Birthday girl, she was crying, clutching her right arm, and walking to her mother,I scanned the area the kids were playing in ,and all of them were looking at the injured Birthday girl with great sympathy, and a little fear..........except one........my Korrin........she was making her way in the other direction. I quickly cut her off and looked at her the way all mothers look at their chilren in times like these, and I said "did you hit Heather?" (the birthday girls name was Heather.) And with little little thought of repercusion what so ever she looked me in the eye, and said"No I Bit Her!"...................................We said our sorrys, said goodbye ,and ,Off we went home.
